Dual Diagnosis Treatment Program in Anaheim, California

Restorations Health Care helps individuals on the path of substance abuse recovery heal their mental health and transform their lives with comprehensive, evidence-based dual diagnosis treatment.

What is Dual Diagnosis Treatment?

Dual diagnosis, also known as co-occurring disorder treatment, refers to when a patient is affected by both drug or alcohol addiction and a mental health disorder such as depression, anxiety, or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Mental health disorders can increase the risk of substance abuse, while substance use disorders can worsen mental health symptoms, creating a toxic cycle that’s hard to break without intervention.

Dual diagnosis treatment focuses on stabilizing the patient and supporting their path toward sobriety. At the same time, our trained mental health professionals will also focus on treating the underlying mental health problems that contribute to substance abuse. This is done through a blend of evidence-based therapies, psychiatric services, and building social support.

The Dual Diagnosis Treatment Process: What to Expect

Medically Supervised Detox

Detoxification, or detox, is the first step in the recovery process to help rid the body of substances and set the foundation for long-term healing. In our detox program, licensed medical professionals ensure a safe detox process from drugs and alcohol. We monitor vitals and prescribe medication as needed to relieve withdrawal discomfort.

Residential Treatment for Co-Occurring Disorders

Our residential treatment facility provides 24-hour, safe and supervised care for individuals who struggle with co-occurring disorders. We offer behavioral therapies and psychiatric care with our multidisciplinary team to help patients in recovery reach their treatment goals and improve their quality of life.

PHP for Dual Diagnosis

Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) provides individuals with daily therapies, meeting 6 hours a day, 5 days a week. It’s similar to residential treatment, except patients return to the comfort of their homes in the evening. Our PHP gradually helps clients transition back to their community, rebuild relationships, and successfully re-enter the workforce.

IOP for Mental Health and Addiction

Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides individuals with daily therapies, meeting 3 hours a day, 3 or 5 days a week. Our IOP is a step down from our other levels of care, helping patients continue to build on the skills they learned in residential and PHP.
