A flexible option for individuals seeking treatment for addiction and mental health challenges. IOP offers structured care while allowing clients to live at home and continue attending to family, work, and school commitments.
An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a structured form of outpatient treatment for recovery from substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders. Individuals who participate in IOP can continue receiving daily or weekly treatment while still maintaining responsibilities at home, school, or work.
IOPs usually meet multiple days a week, for a few hours per day. However, this length can differ depending on the structure of the IOP program. Clients participate in individual therapies, such as CBT, DBT, group therapy, and can receive psychiatric care for medication management.
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) can be a step down from higher levels of care, such as residential treatment or a partial hospitalization program (PHP), or they can act as a step up, providing more structure than typical outpatient treatment. IOP treatment can take place in several settings, including hospitals, rehab facilities, community centers, and mental health clinics.
IOP gives patients more structure than typical outpatient services, yet more flexibility than residential treatment or a PHP. It meets for several hours a day, three or five days a week, and provides therapy, medication management, and support groups.
Unlike higher levels of care, IOP allows individuals in recovery to stay in their communities and continue their daily routines. Our IOP has morning and evening schedules, providing extra flexibility for those who work, are in school, or have other commitment.
During IOP, patients have access to nearly all of the same services as they would in residential treatment. We offer several evidence-based therapies, including CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed therapy, on an intensive outpatient basis.
Our Intensive Outpatient Program focuses on helping patients build a strong peer network to lessen feelings of isolation and foster mutual understanding. IOP also places a strong emphasis on relapse prevention by providing aftercare services such as case management, life skills training, and ongoing mental health support.
When patients enroll in our Intensive Outpatient Program at Restorations, some of the things they can expect include:
Our IOP provides patients with nearly all the same recovery services they would receive in a higher level of care, including evidence-based therapies, group counseling, psychiatric care, life skill workshops, and case management.
Intensive outpatient programs are beneficial to individuals exiting a higher level of care, such as residential treatment or partial hospitalization. They can also serve as a step up from standard outpatient treatment for those who need more structured treatment.
Before entering our IOP program, patients must participate in our medically supervised detox and/or residential rehab. This provides the most successful treatment outcomes.
Restorations Health Care helps patients overcome financial barriers to treatment. We accept most major insurance, and our admissions team will help you verify your benefits or create a payment plan that meets your financial needs.
